Who are we and what do we do?
The Mount Gambier City Band has been operating continuously since 1895. We rehearse weekly on a Wednesday night at 7.30pm at our purpose built band hall on the corner of Lake Tce East & Pick Avenue. We welcome and encourage new, existing and visiting players and non-players to our band and committee.
Nearly everyone has been touched by a brass band. You may have seen us at any number of important and fun community events including ANZAC Day services, Australia Day Ceremony, the famous Mount Gambier Christmas Pageant, Local Fetes and our own spectacular concerts.
Given our experience, our facilities and our commitment to commmunity music the Mount Gambier City Band auspices for other like minded ensembles including the Mount Gambier City Concert Band and B.LU.E Blue Lake Ukulele Ensemble. We also helped at the beginning of life of the Limestone Coast Symphony Orchestra.
Education
Some of the finest brass musicians in the world credit their start in music to brass bands.
We make music fun and accessible and if you want to learn a brass instrument and bring the joy of music into your life we can help with that. Please get in touch with us if you'd like to be involved as a player.

Hall Hire
Our hall has just undergone significant upgrades to ensure you have excellent facilities for your event. We will now have on offer a brand new toilet and shower block with access for those who need a bit more room to manoeuver. PLUS we have a brand new kitchen with all new appliances and lots of space for you to work in. There is also lots of easy access via ramps.
The MGCB hall can be used for many different events. Exhibitions, Wedding Receptions, Concerts and Rehearsals, Fairs. Please click the BOOKINGS button below to get in touch for a quote.
